Window Cleaning charges

I don't think I have the strength to rub every inch of my windows, hence the squeegee. You must have more practice at it than me

I use the squeegee but if you use one correctly, you don't get any streaks so you don't need a cloth afterwards.

You can squeegee a 2.5 x 1.5 m window in a few seconds.

If you're cleaning the frame as well then wash that at the same time but dry the frame and the edges of the window pane before using the squeege.

thanks for the tips. would you mind advise me a bit more on the following details

1)do you do the wipes 'horizontally' or 'vertically'? does it make a difference?

2)between 2 wipes of same direction i.e. 2 horizontal or 2 vertical wipes, (I assume most window is too big to be cleaned by one wipe) how could you remove the water mark? (ie. the water left at the boundary between the 2 wipes

3)you mentioned about white vinegar, at which stage should it be used? and how (I mean add in with water or straight with sponge and applies on window?)

4)how about the use of window cleaner. Do you use it in all the steps above? or simply use water with the squeegee then cleaner at the end?

5)any tips on cleaning the blinds which seems to be more difficult than flat surface glass. When I clean the blinds, it's so difficult to remove the dirt at the side. I know there's is special clip-like sponge to clean the blind piece by piece but it does look like something that's going to take century to finish the job.

5)what is the brand that you're using for the squeegee and blind cleaning.

Hope it's not too details. I actually did it by myself before but not quite work. That's why I ask the cleaning lady to do it. This time, i'm decisive to do a good job (hopefully) this time.

I find wiping vertically is easier on narrow, floor to cieling windows. You wipe a little over the last edge of the last wipe and wipe down the squeegee in between wipes. With the squeegie at an angle, there should only be one water mark/drip on one edge.

The white vinegar goes in with the soapy water - just 1/2 cup - see this recipe http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/2011...-solution.html

For blind cleaning I use a Kärcher soft brush but any soft brush or thick car sponge will do. Wet blind, wipe blind over with the warm soapy water solution, leave it a few minutes and wipe it over again, rinse, then flip blinds to let the water run off and rince again. The water has to be warm for the least amount of scrubbing. A hose attachment with a jet spray works best.

Hope this helps.

I've always done it the way shown in the video below. Once you're up to speed, it's definitely the quickest way.

For really big windows, use a wider squeegee.

I revived this thread because I've found the answer to cleaning those hard to reach windows.

If it's good enough for the Queen..
