worth asking the tax office for an old receipt ?

So I'm useless at handling paper (because.. you know.. it's 2022)

I no longer have the paper copies of receipts (of course they didn't email me them and of course, I didn't scan them) of renovation work carried out 10 years ago on my flat.

Copies (or maybe the originals) would have gone in with my tax return.

Is it worth asking the tax office to dig them out and send me a copy ?

Could you ask the company who did the work? I was recently in a similar situation and asked the painter and he sent it to me
