I just got my renewal notice for my C permit. From what I understood they will give me my biometrics appointment when I show up at the Auslanderkrontrolle (I currently have an old non-biometric EU C permit). I'm currently abroad and was wondering how long does one have to wait (as in how long between the Auslanderkontrolle visit and the biometrics appointment)?
I had a 3 week wait from my visit to the Gemeindehaus to biometrics appt (yesterday 11/2) having put in the “not urgent” pile last November when the renewal form arrived
My C-permit expired 30/1/22, however the woman at the Einwohnerkontrolle told me it wasn’t an issue as I already have a C-permit. Where will you be returning from?
(Bit annoying that the only location for Kt ZH is Oerlikon - was contemplating if I really want to trek there every 5 yrs for next decades presuming I’m alive) or if this is what tips me over to apply for citizenship, I’m the lone wolf in house)

I did some maths with my life expectancy from today, cost of permit renewals, price of getting citizenship and the actual CH passport, was I procrastinating on other admin
I'm spending the winter in Turkey. So looks like two (expensive) mini trips to Zurich within a month... Maybe I should also start at looking into getting the citizenship!
