16 Ampère socket (type 23)

Thinking about getting a Ninja air fryer which has the following ’safety information’

Due to its high performance, this device requires a 16 Ampère socket (type 23).

How does one easily tell if you’ve got one? Our kitchen sockets are mostly standalone triple ones or single ones incorporated with light switch.

It has rectangular pins (and not round ones):

Thank you.

Can you use normal plugs in such sockets?

Yes, normal round pin plugs will fit in these.

You also have 3 phase T25 type sockets which will take both the round and square 3-pin plug. The 3pin part is 230V 16A:

Since 16 amps sockets are different, up to what amperage the normal sockets can be used (let’s leave the wiring and fuses out of the picture)? I’m just curious.

My fuses for my normal sockets are all 10 ampere so I could not use such a device, if you swap the fuse for a higher one then you risk the wiring is not strong enough and likely insurance would not cover it.

The fuses for my three phase supplies are stronger @ 16 ampere and the sockets look like Tom’s picture

We’ll have an electrician in. And after swaping an electric boiler for a heat pump I’m guessing we have pleanty of capacity for an airfryer.
