I've been considering opening the 3rd pillar account for a short-term tax optimization with a view of taking a mortgage (as I understand, without doing investments the potential win is about 3% depending on the income). As I've learned insurance companies must be avoided as far as my objective is concerned, banks or investment firms are the way to go.
I've queried my bank and received a contract for the 3rd pillar, the below conditions seem a bit unfavorable to me - could please someone comment on them, if it's pretty normal to have those?
- 6 month notice period: wouldn't be pretty hard to sync such a long notice period with a prospective of buying a property / taking a mortgage in future? Or it's a normal practice?
- a possibility for having administrative charges for the account governance: the kind of charges isn't precised, on the bank website the account maintenance is advertised by the bank as free
- a possibility of having the contract changed any time by the bank: it's a bit of a loophole for me
It's one of cantonal banks.
Thanks in advance.
