4.5kg Oversize Toblerone

Hi everyone,

I promised my friends back home in Canada that I would bring a "large quantity of Swiss chocolate" home for them. I'm a big fan of Toblerone, so I figure I'll bring one of the really big novelty ones back (4.5kg), but the only place I've seen one so far is a souvenir shop in Zermatt. I live near Zurich (Baden) and obviously don't want to go down to Zermatt to buy a chocolate bar, so I was wondering if anyone has seen one of these in Baden, Zurich, Olten, Bern or in that general region (they make the things in Bern, so I should hope they can be found there).

Thanks

They sometimes stock these in the Coop in Basel Markt Platz, so it may be worth looking in one of the larger COOP's in the more touristy areas. Also try the Bahnhof Chocolate stores

Manor at St Jakob's football stadium have them. Again, near Basel.

the chocolate shop all have them in at the moment, we got one at the motorway service station between baden and zurich, also in the big chocolate shops in zurich at the moment too, so I guess the ones in baden also have them in too.

Don't carry them by the handle on the box tho, it breaks

As previously suggested look in a Coop City or Manor, I have seen them in both places..good luck!

I have also seen them at the bigger Coop's

-- Enjoy --

just saw it on Sunday at the souvenir shop near Migros at the airport!

you'll also need to be sitting down when you pay for it

I did this 2 christmases ago and it lasted for a whole year!

My tip is when you get really, heartily sick of it (which you will, however many people help you out) do a chocolate fondue with it. Melt it over a water bath and then use fruit as the dunking agent, it works a treat.

Just as there is no such thing as extra money, there is no such thing as an oversize Toblerone.

Never saw one, so asked for an image:

when you finished eating it, simply change your second name to Toblerone and use the empty box as a desk name plate.

you can get it from the sovinier shop next to Migros at Flughafen

put down all your back issues of viz and step away from the keyboard

Here you go: They post it to you

Wow, thanks to everyone for all the helpful replies.

You're absolutely right! In hindsight I can't imagine how I ever typed such words.

Cheers

Make sure you supply a hammer and chisel because the triangles are really hard to break

we got one from merkur in bern and carried it to slovakia! here are some pics!

all packed and ready to go:

Lol! My dad wants one of these when i go home. We already checked and it fits in the OH suitcase My mom said she will scream if we do take one back. Earplugs anyone?

Thats where you are wrong, due to the design of the Toblerone the pieces can be snapped apart by pressing the tops of the triangles together, in the case of the big bar, sticking your mitts on top and adopting a Bullworker pose .

Clever sods these Swiss.
