Either you go to the Post office and ask them to exchange them for let's say, 3x 1 franc or you drop by a Kiosk and buy sweets ... it is still money and worth 3 Swiss francs, so !!!
If there's a stamp machine near you, you can buy a -.85 stamp for 17 coins each.
Or you can go to the post office and get some coin roll paper for free. The -.05 coin is rolled in amounts of 50. They'll probably send you rolling anyway if you try to get rid of a big pile of coins.
You can drop them in the coin boxes fir charities. I don't think they will mind the denomination. The boxes in Zurich Airport contains even foreign currency.
Technically, I believe that you're breaking the law... I was once told that you're not allowed to destroy money (from one of my chemistry teachers, when we destroyed a few coins to get hold of the copper and nickel in them... )
I actually started collecting 5 Rp coins: I've got a whole big jar full of them...
You could even buy something to eat for someone who is begging,
I will not give money to people begging outside shops etc but I will use the money to buy them a sandwich or if they have a dog (which a lot in the UK do), I buy a tin of dog food..
I cannot understand how anyone could throw money away
