Hi
I urgently want to get my passport photo of 5*5 cm.
could anyone please advice me if any photo studio near Aesch Baselland
or anywhere in Basel please..
Thanx a lot in advance for your time..
There is a place near Barfüsserplatz that makes 5x5 photos.
It ́s on Weisse Gasse - the small street parallel to Falknerstrasse, entry to street is just in front of the Coop Pronto.
I ́ve had pictures done there a few times for visas requiring 5x5 cm.
It is the only place I am aware of that provides that specific size passport pictures.
Hope it helps
Thank you very much for your quick reply..I was searching over yellow page for long time to find nothing of my specification ..It is a great help indeed as I need my photos taken by tomorrow..I'll run to that shop tomorrow :-)
Have a good night..
The quickest and perhaps the cheapest way to get your photos done is to take a photo by your point and shoot. Put it on your computer, crop (even with mspaint) it the size you want, say 5x5. Copy the image few times to create a grid, say 3 images in 2 rows with some space in between. Save the file, copy in a flash drive. Go to the nearest Melectronics, they have a photo printer which can print out a post card for 0.60 CHF. Thats it. 6 photos for 60 rp. I don't know whether image quality etc is your topmost priority but for me it works great. I get all my passport and stamp size photos done this way with no issues at all.

I use the website epassportphoto.com. Have someone take your picture against a light background, choose picture size, download and print. It gives you four passport pictures per photo sheet. You will be asked to like it on faxebook but there is a teeny weeny button that lets you skip that point.
I've done kids', husbands', neighbors' passport pictures this way. Biometric enough even for German passports.
Great site. But there is a limitation, you can't set your own size. For example for Switzerland the size is 4.5x3.5, what if, like the OPS, we need 5x5 or any other size?

Choose a different country. If I remember correctly, US and Philippines required 5x5 pics.
http://www.fotomarlin.ch/ Seems to be used to taking fotos for different nationalities, they're quite professional.
Many photography stores will also offer a passport photo studio service where you can go in and get a specific size of photo taken and printed up.
Thank you all for your replies...I used the studio near Barfusserplatz as adviced by one EF member , they are really great..May be next time I'll do it by myself and print it as it'll save me a lottt of money..I paid 120 franc altogether for my family..
Yes, I think printing the photos in one of these printers would save you lots of bucks. I never had any issues with the photos and have never spent more than 2 CHF for the entire family (3 members) :-)

Can anyone help me with advising where to get 5x5 cm pictures in/near Zurich? I dont have printing capabilities so the online options is limited for me. I need to do this before noon tomorrow so any suggestions is well appreciated.
Many thanks!

You can still use the online optiton, then save the photo on some saving device and print it out at one of those photo printers at Migros.
Thanks for workarounds suggestions on how to use the online option, but unfortunately I do not have the option of taking my picture without getting a friend to help and I need to have the photos ready in the FedEx package this afternoon. Am okay to pay more for a shop to help me but just need some direction as I do not have much time.
Thank you in advance.
Hi all,
Have managed to find some information about this with some shops near the HB, so I am good.
Many thanks!
Last year I was traveling to India and for Indian visa you need a photo 5x5 cm. There was a photo booth at place you apply for Indian visa in Bern (not embassy), address: India Visa Application Centre, Seilerstrasse 25, Bern. 20 or 30 franks for 4 photos.
I know this is too far for you, but maybe someone else can find this useful. Or search for something like that in Zurich.
