A new German word

Heres a new word I came across

"brenzlig"

Das Wetter am Wochenende wird brenzlig.

The weather at the weekend is getting hot.( dangerous)

https://www.linguee.com/german-engli...situation.html

Can also be used for a situation that is brenzlig (risky)

Yeah, in Switzerland it is used your way.

To talk about the weather being brenzlig is weird all together but I'd understand if it looked to be very inconsistent. When I look at the forecast, all this rain .... nothing brenzlig at all. Not the tiniest risk to see a sunbeam until ... we don't even know as my forecast stops next Friday

Time to let the shutters down and paint their inside in light blue.

Well I have never heard this word being used by the Swiss in 25 years

Do the test. Unusual Swiss words

I've not hear the word "chosle" (spilling fluid) since my grandmother passed away.

Oops, I failed miserably at my own native language there

What is "spilling fluid" when it's at home?

Yes. Even the natives have problems here

But are you from Stans?

Pretty proud I got 5!

Hmm, no sure what you're referring to but it possibly is not used for what you're thinking.

I guess he is thinking adjective, not present participle:

a) Cleaning fluid can remove that stain.

pp) Spilling fluid on the floor will cause a stain.

It actually means splashing water around, for example small children in a bathtub. I think it’s Berndeutsch. In Zürideutsch you would say “götschä” and in high German “ plantschen”.

new one for me today - Aatötschli

New to me too, what does it mean?

I know Tötschli.

I presumed it was onomatopoeic, like "Atishoo".

it's a little email attachment - Aa-tötsch-li

Brilliant! Thank you. Your wit put a big smile on my face.
