I still have accrued paid vacation that I was not able to use because there was no one in the company to cover for my responsibilities, after which I was on sick leave due to pregnancy, after which I was on maternity leave.
I wanted to book my paid vacation after my maternity leave and before my unpaid leave. However, the employer does not allow me to take my vacation now. In the ammendment to the contract regarding the unpaid leave, they state that "The current vacation credit remains and is continued after the Unpaid Leave." Also, "any notice period shall commence during
the period of the Unpaid Leave."
I believe there is a high chance that I will get fired before my unpaid leave ends and the company will not pay me my vacation days. Are they allowed not to pay me for those days if our employment ends?
