Advice on starting a company

Hello All,

I am interested in starting an education based company here in Switzerland. I am happy for it to be a non-profit, so I would reinvest what I would make to grow it. However, I was thinking if it is for profit...that could allow for impact investing as a possible source of funding.

Does anyone have som advice on the pros and cons of each way forward?

NGO? Not for Profit? For Profit?

Thanks!

Does your permit/nationality allow you to be self employed?

Have a look at startup.ch, that is a site a very knowledgeable EF person recommended.

Here’s me quoting myself, too, as this question is dealt with, from time to time, on this forum.

Even though those links are about ideas for food businesses, and your product would be something different, many of the same principles apply.

Good luck with your research and, if you get it up and running, your non-/for- profit company.

What is your end goal? Will you struggle with business income, etc, or if your end goal is to do business along your life, possibly already earn enough money before your 40s?

In some sense, a business may get you broke. And my best advice is that if you are not originally a Swiss, do not register a Swiss company. Instead, register a company however you'd like to retire with it and register a Swiss branch.

It makes a lot of sense to understand how your potential investor's investment is incorporated.
