Advice on Starting a Small scale business in Switzerland

Hello everyone.

I am thinking of starting up a small scale retail and Wholesale business. I would like to import African foodstuffs and drinks to sell them here.

- The drinks do not have more than 7.7% of alcohol content in them.

- The start Capital would be about 5.000 -7.000 CHF

For me to do this smoothly, do i need a Licence?

What are the legal procedures to follow?

Thanks for your advices in advance.

Search the relevant forum, there's loads of answers to similar questions already.

Re alcohol, you'll need them to be exported via a bonded warehouse over there otherwise you'll end up paying alcohol duty at both ends. No idea about foodstuffs from Africa, but I imagine testing of some sort will be mandatory.

Selling alcohol requires a permit in canton Zürich, issued by the commune (Zürich city) (you can't allow consumption on your premises). That seems to require you to register with the cantonal food lab (supervising body), the LebensMittelKontrolle .

Regulations for selling as a retailer will probably differ from selling to retailers.

Also check the website of Swiss customs - Alcohol division ( https://www.ezv.admin.ch/ezv/en/home...s/alcohol.html )

THANKS will definitely check again.. Also the foodstuffs are worth giving them a try.

Thanks for the info. I will check with them.

Thanks..
