Hi. I just realized now that I lost my gray AHV/AVS card, prabably since a loooong time ago... I think it is not serious. I only have to as them to issue a new card. Am I right? Then the question is, to whom I should ask?
The grey ones are history as it's the old no!
Hi. This is not a big issue. You will need to call the AHV in your community. They will send you a new card.
If you are employed, there is a form you should fill out and submit to your employer.
I filled out the form, went to the local office, after <5 mins of brief questions, they said it would be in the mail in 2 weeks, got my replacement card in 5 working days!
You just need to ask your employer to get a new card for you... You will keep the same number and it should start with 756.XXX.....
Good luck
I don't think i have an AVS card.. AVS number îs on my payslip and on my medical card but just checked my wallet and no card.
What's it for? Why do you need a specific card?
The old style grey one that was lost os obsolete & has the old no on it.
The new style one does really have a 'card' however it's more of a peel off from a letter, so not really anything that would last in your wallet. You have the no that is all you need!
Applying for RAV, they would not accept a photocopy or just the number (although I had multiple documents showing the number). Paper work was still completed, but eventually they had to 'tick off the box' when I had shown them the physical card.
I don't feel it should have been necessary, but just following rules.
The RAV accepted a print of a scan I gave them, they specifically did not want to see the old style grey card that I also provided.
The Kasse also accepted a print of a scan.
You had it slightly easier than me :P
But of course this is Switzerland, so if you get the wrong person demanding something, they won't back off until their needs are met!
Similar situation when I was getting my Swiss driver's license. The one person wouldn't go further until I had proof that I was living in Canada for the previous year (eg pay slips). I had none, since I hadn't work the year, so I just came back when someone else was working--they happily moved the paperwork through without issue.
I knew it! It was obviously prejudice.
(Now was it because of my gender or my skin colour?)
