Hello All
My Husband has 2 AHV Numbers and we do not understand why and what can happen or if can happen something in the future.
Searching some papers I found "just now" that the Number of AHV written in the AHV card it's not the same that is in the Health Insurance Card and Some Documents Too:
ArbeitLohnausweis that my husband receive in the end of the Year always come with the AHV number that's written in the AHV card.
but,
Prämienverbilligung:
2012,2013, 2014 - AHV card
2015,2016,2017 - AHV Number written in Health Insurance Card
He will start to work in another Firma in 2 monthes, so what number should he give?
There's no Problem having 2 AHV Numbers?
Thank you very much
Everyone has 2 AHV numbers for now, the old number and the new one, but they are linked. I'm not sure how long this status will last or when the old numbers are due to be phased out, if ever.
I would definitely check this out with the relevant authorities.
On my old one the fourth and fifth number were the year of my birth. Is one of the numbers like that? xxx 40 xxx xxx
New one is xxx.xxxx.xxxx.xx
It could simply be an error on the one or the other.
I've had the wrong number on my 1/2 tax Abo and two different dates of birth at the same hospital ( which meant they couldn't find my history) so it can happen that someone slips up somewhere.
My Husband came to CH in 2012 and I in 2013, and I just have 1 AHV Number, will I have another one too?
Have both the format 756.XXXX.XXXX.XX a.k.a AHVN13? Then you sould act and fix the issue.
Or has one of the numbers only 11 digits? Then this one is a old version of the AHV number and the other is the new current version.
You should have one and only one AHVN13. Mistakes may happen and sometimes one person is assigned two numbers:

Responsible for assigning a unique AHVN13 is the Central compensation Office CENT in Geneva.
Please contact them, explain the situation. They will link the two numbers and set one of them to 'inactive'. The inactive should no longer be used.

Seconded; OH also has two, the original one on the grey card which was issued in 1980 when we arrived in Switzerland and a second one that suddenly appeared on all his official paperwork a few years ago.
There are similarities though, and both contain his birthdate... although in a slightly different order if I remember correctly.
The newer one is the one you'll need to pass on to his new employer.
Thank you very much for your reply, I called AHV and the lady told me that they are Linked, and he should use the one written on Health Insurance Card.
Yes, both have 13 Numbers.
So if they are linked, there's no problem with taxes and so on...right?
Should I contact the department in order to 'inactive' the first number even if they are linked?
thank you
The process of linking involves setting one of the numbers to inactive. So, no problem.
To make sure everything is o.k. request an AHV account extract, using the number on the health insurance card. Once you get it in two to three weeks check that all years your husband worked are listed on it. If not you have to act again.
You can request a statement either here: https://www.ahv-iv.ch/en/Leaflets-fo...nt/Switzerland
or here: https://www.zas.admin.ch/zas/en/home...ndividuel.html
PS: Tax is the the least of all problems.
I just noticed that in the AHV card also the birthday day isn't correct...my husband never pay attention to this kind of things and it's really important
Why we are so thankful for our good other halfes
Contact the AHV agian and check which birthday is on file. Maybe it is allready corrected it with linking both numbers. Maybe this is also the reason why your husband had two numbers. If the wrong DOB is on file ask them how to proceed. If it is fixed request a new AHV card (anyway good to get one with the correct number).
If they do not know you can use this official form, which you have to hand in at your commune office (Gemeinde): https://www.zas.admin.ch/dam/zas/de/...e_V1.1_tyo.pdf
Thanks you for your help!

That's why the halves complete each other
