I tried to find something in this context but couldn't get any information. If this query already exists please connect me to the thread.
I would be soon traveling with my infant to India and would like to know if it is allowed to bring the baby stroller inside plane. Any one has experience in both places like ZRH and in DEL. Would be great if you share your experience and suggestions.
My baby stroller is Bugaboo Chameleon and foldable, just in case this info. helps.
No, they will take it from you just before you board and put it in the hold. Some airlines will give you a special tag that means it will be waiting for you at the other end (as soon as you disembark), however you may find the baggage handlers ignore this and send it through to general baggage reclaim which may be a long walk
The only sure way to have your pushchair at the other end is to buy one which folds down to cabin size e.g. Quinny Zapp and then just stow it in the overhead lockers.
we had to leave our stroller at the plane's door and retreive it from the regular baggage claim - I'd suggest bringing a baby carrier just in case they handle it that way so you have your hands free while retrieving your luggage.
If your chameleon needs to be broken down into two pieces you will need to check it at oversize baggage (I did flying on Swiss this Xmas). If it folds small into one piece you can side check it at the plane door.
I work in the airlines company. Normally parents take the stroller to the gate if it needed and the ground staff put them in the bulk(different storage with other baggages). When you arrive at your destination, you can get it back from the gate as well(Any type of the B.stroller is okay). You can also bring it into the plane and put it in the overhead bin but there is fixed size and type for it . Most of the airlines have this gate service for baby stroller so you can check this at check-in counter.
