Airport parking

Hi all

I'll be heading home for the 1st time since moving here next month and I was looking for some advice on airport parking. After doing some research I've discovered that it's quite expensive to park at the airport for 7 days and it's would also cost a lot to take a taxi (Einsiedeln/airport). I came across a website called parkvia which offeres many options including meet and greet and is a lot less expensive and has mostly 4.5/5 5/5 reviews has anyone used this service before?

Any advice on this would be most appreciated

Thanks

Park on the french side... depending which swiss airport you refer to

The prices on the French side at GVA are the same as on the Swiss side and there isn't any obvious off-site airport parking on the French side (the problem being there isn't any public transport on the French side.

I suspect the OP is talking about ZRH as the home town is Einsiedeln.

Which airport? Have you checked out train connections?

the different parking lots at Zurich airport have a huge difference in their fees - the one closest to the terminal being the most expensive and the weird half-open building 5mins walk away being the cheapest. it will still be pricey.

Anyway, the obvious answer to your question: Take the train! it's one change at Zurich main station and even with luggage not that hard. Probably one tenth of the costs of a taxi...

Einsiedeln has excellent train connections to the airport. Leave the car at home.

Pre-book in advance directly on the Zurich airport website, it's cheaper.

Or try airport parking.ch, or park n fly.

Hi

Some great advice from all I never even considered the train as I'll have 2 suitcases but I'll certainly check it as an option it looks like the best one.

Thanks for all the great suggestions

taking the train from Einsiedeln to Wädenswil and from Wädenswil straight to the Zurich airport may the best way. Happy holiday

we used Private Parking Airport Zuerich (parkvia) several times and we are very happy with them. You just stop right in front of the check-in and hand over the keys (sometimes they even help you to get out your suitcases). Then when you arrive you just text them and your car will be waiting for you. And it is cheaper than the official airport parking.

The only problem would be if you get some new scratches/ dents on you car. So I would only do it with a car you have full casco on - or you don't care about too much.

I am using Service of suisseparking ( www.suisseparking.ch )

and always satisfied. A Little bit more pricy comparing to the others

but the Staff is very friendly and the cost is exact (no additional)

Hi

My car is provided for me through work and I would not be too keen on it getting damaged although parkvia does seem very good I'll also have a look at suisseparking

Thanks for the input

We always take the train to ZRH - no hassle, drops you right into the middle of the airport, and much cheaper than parking.

Don't change trains in HB if you can help it, the distances to transfer are much greater than at a local station.

Another trick is to change onto the tram at Glattbrugg or Kloten Balsberg, just three or one stop to the airport and opens up the S5 and S7 as options.

Ref the parking vet companies... 1 of them used to use a local gravel car park ...... I would often see them ragging a sport car around and handbrake turns etc and pebble dashing other cars...

Take the train! One change at Wadenswil where the connection time is 4 mins, but if you don't fancy this with two suitcases, get someone to drive you down to Pfäffikon & take the direct train to the airport from there. S2 I think. Easy peasy.
