The new Swiss TV channel "HD Suisse" will start broadcasting today at 10 a.m. The channel is available via satellite and some cable operators.
The program schedule is relatively thin right now but the good thing is that all foreign programs are broadcast in 4 languages (German, French, Italian + original) - a great way to improve on your language skills and also great for those who don't speak any of the national languages.

ps: our gas grill was picked up buy a gust of wind and landed on our sat-dish last night, so I won't be able to enjoy HD Suisse today :-) Ironically, the reception of the British channels has improved due to misalignment while Hotbird-reception is down dramatically...
HD Suisse started on Saturday (or so the blurb that came from Sat-Access told me). As Pr*miere HD is open on Pr*dator, it's on the back-burner.
And Sat-Access should be sending out some new cards this month as the move from Viaccess 2.5 -> 2.6 should take place, thus locking many hobbyists out of the SSR SRG package
for Swiss residents, yes (except for the on-time-fee for the decoder card).
However - it's really not worth watching. No multichannel sound, no English content, causes trouble on most satellite receivers (choppy pictures due to 720p standard)
which essentially means that you're phone-line isn't HD-ready (and probably won't be because Swisscom has virtually completed their network upgrades and won't be doing any more PUS work in the foreseeable future).
Swisscom did some work on my line last Monday (got a nice letter saying between the hours of 0700-1900 my line would be down for 2 hours) but obviously working all day on my line didn't make it HD ready...
