Recently we employed All-Blitz (allblitz.ch) to do our end of tenancy cleaning. There were several issues - we were out of the apartment when it was being cleaned and we asked them to call us when they were nearly finished so we could have a look. We didn't get the call so we called. They said they were done and leaving, we asked them to wait 5 minutes as we were round the corner and - boom - they ran off (it ended up taking us 2 minutes to get back).
The cleaning wasn't up to scratch and we had to spend a few hours at 5am the next day trying to get marks off the floor (which we managed) ready for inspection. Later, after inspection, I called to speak to them about a glass fixture they broke. I was informed we had to pay for anything under 1000CHF they break anyway and then they hung up on me.
So, yes, probably All Blitz isn't the best end of tenancy cleaning company to use.
So did you pay them in advance? Sounds odd to me. Is that normal?
I'm not sure if it's normal because, frankly, I'm ignorant of these things but that's what they demanded so that's what I did. It was, it seems, a mistake.
Man it would be great if there was someplace where you could ask other people for recommendations for things like apartment cleaners.

yes...well...in honesty I just thought they'd clean the place normally and just be normal.

Had I looked I would have found the above - certainly no one to blame but myself, but just thought I'd invest some time in making sure people don't make the same mistake I did.
