If you install CWM (custom recovery) on your SGS4 within CWM you have option wipe battery stats That should increase battery charge circle. For example my old SGS3 hold battery for one day (from morning to evening) with regular use of wifi, text, calls... After wiping bat stats phone hold half a day more!
@PaddyG turn phone off, press vol down +home + power button until phone goes to recovery
@Paddy - you have the instructions to get into recovery above. You have to power down first.
If you're asking such questions, don't replace recovery but do just wipe cache. That should be an option in the default recovery. Do not factory reset or full wipe!!
Original N7 has TRIM issues and was slow as hell after some use. OS version really doesn't help. N7 2013 was much better but it's still 2 years old so I would cut it some slack. Maybe try and manage storage, apps, and general cache deletes and see if that helps.
Xperia Z3, Z2 tablet, and my gf's Z3 compact are all flying with the 5.0 update.
Now all Google has to do is fix the damn smart lock home location bug in Play Services 7.0 and I'm a happy camper
So what's the latest verdict? .... Is Lollipop still for suckers?
If I have a choice of two generations of the same phone - one with 4.4 Kitkat and the other with 5.0 Lollipop - forgetting other changes in spec., but on OS alone - which should I consider?
There aren't huge differences in spec. or price.
ETA: I think my question may be irrelevant - the Kitkat version is dual SIM (which I require) and the Lollipop appears not to be, having marginally better spec. - so no choice after all.
As I'm currently running on Ice Cream Sandwich, either is an improvement.
However, the Lollipop version seems to be single SIM, so it'll have to be Kitkat for the dual SIM model (although, I think there may be the option to upgrade, but need to check) ...... unless things change in the near future.
