Any GOOD Chinese or Indian restaurants near Lausanne??

I've been craving Asian food since being pregnant and can't really find any decent restaurants in the Lausanne/Morges area, do they exist?!

I went out for dinner at Au Canard Pekinois and the food was very good but quite expensive, not exactly a weekly treat!

Our favorite is definitely Au Canard Pekinois, but you are right, it is more of a special occasion restaurant.

We also like Le Papillon on Ave. du Leman. It has a much more neighborly kind of vibe and the food is good.

There is a Thai restaurant in Morges which is reasonable, but nowhere near authentic.

If you want an authentic Indian curry - and are willing to wait till Easter - I can cook you one. I would offer sooner, but we are away till then.

I have Asian parents coming in and would appreciate any other tips people have for authentic, reasonably priced Chinese food in the area or Chinese groceries where you can find Chinese chives, Chinese cabbage, Chinese five spice, etc.

My choice for Chinese: Chez Xu (Riponne & Gare- you'll probably see me more in the former and the place is popular with the Chinese population in Lausanne) and Au Canard Pekinois.

For Indian: Indian Zayeka in Chavannes.

Try" La Jonque", Avenue de Cour 15 , Lausanne (towards Ouchy). Our favorite place and best experience when visiting with chinese friends. The food is excellent but you should be patient with the waiters. It's worth it.
