It wouldn't be an on-line order, I would go there and place the order to their desks, I don't know if it does make any difference with the on-line one.
Btw, Monday Il' go to the Dietikon store to manage the issue - .
Ikea's delivery service is slow and expensive. Fortunately there are alternatives. I recommend going to the Ikea store, purchase your furniture and have it delivered by a "Warentaxi" (a private delivery service) such as Storni . They can deliver on the same day or the day after for a reasonable price.
Hi there, yes I know I can rent a van at the IKEA store, but I want them to ship the furnitures at home...and hopefully to assemble them, it's just my choice, I don't wanna bother myself ...
I hope you understood that you do not drive the "Warentaxi" I mentioned above, as it is a private delivery service. Just go to Ikea's Kundenservice after you have purchased your furniture and ask the assistant to call Storni Warentaxi.
I highly recommend the taxi. minimum ikea delivery cost when we purchased our stuff was CHF95 or 10% of the value of the purchase (whichever was higher). The taxi back to zurich cost us CHF90 (instead of 250) and we got our stuff straight away. I would say it was better than waiting for the delivery and cheaper too.
Ordered delivery for wardrobe components at IKEA Pratteln, near Basel, on Mon 18.8.2008. Delivery was scheduled for Sat 23.8. between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. Delivery arrived today, right on time. Five days delivery time.
Oh if only i found out about warentaxi before renting a van at ikea today and ordering an entire clothes cabinet pax system last week to be delivered. (it is going to take 2 weeks). my next ikea orders (and there are more coming up...) will definitely not be with ikea delivery anymore! thanks very much guys for the tip.
Our experience with a sofa bed and two drawer units was that we were advised it would take six weeks but then two days later got a phone call from the delivery service that they could deliver that day.
The closest Ikea to Luzern would be the one near to Basel I think. By the time you've battled trhough the Zurich traffic you could be at Pratteln (?spelling) made your selection and home.
