This is one of top ranked Indian restaurants in Zurich. And it offers the takeaways at a decent price.
I find Khan's heavily overpriced, with a meagre choice. If "real" restaurants, I might recommend the Tandoori BBQ on Bleicherweg, the Masala at Stauffacher, the Taj Palace and the Ravi's Indian Cuisine in Wipkingen, the Raja Bongo on Kanonengasse, and not least the Kerala at Hofwiesenstrasse.
The King's Kurry at Bahnhof Wiedikon is supreme, but usually full and due to lack of airconditioning only my place on nice summer evenings when the outside places are open

Recipe for Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (cut meat Zürich style)

Ingredients for 4 persons:
300 g (0.66 pounds) fresh mushrooms, sliced juice of 1⁄2 lemon spices 600 g (1.3 pounds) veal, cut in small pieces 2 tablespoons margarine 1 onion, cut in very small pieces 1 dl (3.4 fl. ounces) white wine 1 to 2 dl (3.4 to 6.8 fl. ounces) water 1.5 to 2 dl (5 to 6.8 fl. ounces) cream gravy-powder paprika 1 teaspoon salt grind pepper Preparation:
Cook the mushrooms together with the lemon juice in a small, covered pot. Heat up slowly, cook for 2 minutes. Pour the liquid into a cup. Add some spices to the mushrooms, keep them warm. Melt the margarine in a frying-pan Add the onions, stew. Increase the heat, add the meat, add some water and roast gently. Turn the meat occasionally to make sure it gets roasted evenly. Remove the meat. Add the white wine, let cook until the liquid thickens. Add the liquid from 2. plus some gravy-powder, cook until the sauce binds. Add the cream and increase the heat slightly. Add paprika and some spices. Pour salt, pepper and 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika on the meat. Put meat into the sauce, increase the heat, but do not cook. Add the mushrooms. Remarks:
Zürich Geschnetzeltes is usually served with rösti (hash browns), but rice or pasta fits fine as well. In a restaurant, if this menu is declared as Zürich Geschnetzeltes , it has to be made out of veal

As mentioned there are lots of places you can buy curries but the Swiss idea of a hot curry is a bit disappointing.

First in regard to what you can see. It is far away from the times of the 50ies and 60ies, when you had to fight with seegrass in many places, when you had to share the place with uncountable dead fish "swimming" upside down happily towards downtown ! No, it nowadays is quite clear and you CAN see what is underneath. It is recommended however to stay in the areas of the Schwimmbäder as the boat-traffic is rather dense outside those areas.
Second, the temperatures. The Schwimmbäder get opened in May but then the water tends to be very cold. The water gets to above 17°C end of May early June and can get up to 25/26/27° later on, and stays above 19° nicely into mid September
A problem of course is the weather. To put it with the "travel catalogue" of United Arab Airlines of the 1960ies where you could read about weather in Zurich : "rain is likely at any time" !

"Swiss idea of a hot curry" ? Sure, abstain from ordering "curry" in standard Swiss restaurants, as the so-called "curry" tends to be a creamy pudding with some mild supermarket curry mixed with Schlagrahm (Sahne) !

No, it will not disappoint you, IF you
- define what you want before looking for a restaurant
- choose the restaurant carefully
- choose the meal carefully
- tell the waiter about whether you want it spicy or mild
But be aware of the price-level which is between 1.4 and 1.8 of the average London one, and so rather high
If you decide to do a meal at home, do not forget that for many things all those Italian, Greek, Turkish, Arab and Indian shops offer much stuff which may not be ready in the supermarkets and at fairly low prices (by Swiss standards)

This Shop is a grocerry Store and they have a takeaway section . Shop is open betweem 11 am to 7 PM (Sunday Closed and Saturday upto 5 PM only)
