Anybody heard of callanetics?

Hi all,

has anybody heard of callanetics?

I am currently weighing up the pros and cons of starting my new (small) business here in Switzerland, or in my home country (Ireland) It seems like staying here in Switz is a better option. My business would be....conducting group and private exercise classes in a technique called callanetics.

Callanetics is a way of toning your entire body using tiny movements, and works amazingly fast. If anybody out there is interested, would you mind taking this short survey to give me some idea of the market for these classes in Switzerland.

Thanks guys

Cheers

Caroline

Heres the link...thanks all

Hi Caroline

I certainly have, I use to love doing callenetics back in South Africa. Why do you ask are you offering classes ;-)

Nats

is it anything like calisthenics ?

Not really, it is an exercise system by some one called Callan somthingor other which involves very small movements and no jumping around. It was a big fad back in the early 90's.

Yes - remember it from years ago.

Didn't like it much..........

Yes I remember taking classes with a fantastic outcome and if there is anyone in Basel wanting to set up Callanetics or if you know of it already taking place .Please put the details on EF

I haven't been inside, but there is a Callanetics studio in Baden. Perhaps you could contact them to see if there is one closer to you. http://www.callaneticsbaden.ch

I am basically wondering if there is a market in Switzerland, as i am currently training to be an instructor with the hope of bringing it home to Ireland,, however the situation here seems veerrryyy grim, so just wondering whether i would be better to get set up in Switz!!!

Cheers folks

Caroline

I'm not sure you would make a good living out of it but I'd be happy to join if you started something in Lausanne.

Hi

I have started my callanetics training, and am wondering if anybody is interested in letting me practice on them????

Please let me know of course i am prepared to travel

Caroline

Hi

Anyone heard of callanetics???

It is a really excellent no impact exercise method based around ballet/pilates utilizing proper body alignment and tiny precise movements to tone the body fast.

I have recently started training to be a callanetics instructor, and am finding it difficult to practice on friends as they tend to be a little too relaxed/chatty etc !!!!

So.....i wonder if anybody is interested in letting me practice on you.....ie...go through the program with you....and for you to give me feedback on how my teaching style is progressing (if at all!!!)

I am prepared to travel, but dont have a place so maybe a few friends could group up and i could come to your place

Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Caroline

I would certainly be interested, what are your proposing? I work in Ouchy and actually have access to a workout room. Please PM me.

PELVICFLOOR WORKSOP: Hi all, i was with this lady last week, she is really excellent - a qualified physiotherapist and qualified in franklin method.

she holds workshops over europe in german and french but hasn't had any in english. she proposed to me, that she would be interested in doing a one day workshop on the pelvic floor.

so....i need to get 10 people together, well it doesnt have to be 10 people, but she is charging 1000 for the day, so that would be 100 CHF each if we had 10.

Please let me know if you are interested in doing the workshop

Hello, I think we should talk. I have a fitness instructor degree and I am looking to get the Callanetics diploma. I live in Geneva, please get in touch with me. I am new on the forum so I don't know How to give you my phone or e-mail adress.

Best regards, sandra

Sounds a bit like Feldenkrais to me. Do you know about that? It seems to be fairly popular here right now. Several of my friends are learning it.

Yeah, there seem to be a few around, but none in Lausanne.

its funny becuase while the callanetics.ch site is quite extensive, none of these studios are certified, there is only one certified teacher in Fribourg

If you still need someone in a month, I would definitely be interested. I am currently living in Zurich but we are just about to move to Lausanne (in April). Thanks!
