Anyone Checked Out the Xiaomi YU7 SUV Yet?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here has seen or test-driven the new Xiaomi YU7 SUV that’s starting to make some noise in the EV scene. I know Xiaomi is better known for smartphones and electronics, but it seems like they’re now stepping into the car industry in a serious way and honestly, the YU7 looks impressive for a first SUV.

From what I’ve read:
• It’s a fully electric mid-size SUV
• Offers dual-motor AWD
• Claimed range is around 750–800 km (depending on the battery version)
• Interior looks super modern large infotainment screen, minimalist dash, and solid software (which you’d expect from Xiaomi)
• Price-wise, it’s said to be quite competitive compared to European brands

Not sure if it’s officially available in Switzerland yet maybe through import for now? I’m really curious how it stacks up in terms of real-world range, build quality, and especially service options here in CH.

Anyone got more info or firsthand experience with the YU7? Would love to hear thoughts — especially on whether it’s worth waiting for or if you’d rather stick to something like a Tesla Model Y, Skoda Enyaq, or even a BYD.

Cheers :clinking_beer_mugs:

I guess someone from China needs to answer that. One day will be available here, but not yet.

Xiaomi to consider selling cars outside China from 2027, CEO says. So, the availability here depends on the car homologation process.

There are only a few Xiaomi cars (SU7) for sale around Europe. But, I bet they have no warranty (or warranty offered by a small GmbH that may go bust at any time, not Xiaomi ), no access to parts or qualified service, registering them should be possible but a PITA, etc.

Anyway…someone is selling a SU7(the sedan) in Ticino. Caveat emptor!

Not the xiaomi, but one of the BYDs. Go to Poland, and it’s insane how quickly Chinese cars are taking over the market.

Priced incredibly aggressively, with features and optionals to compete with even the highest end European brands.

I do expect waves in the next few years as European car manufacturers feel the pinch… heck, I would buy a BYD Shark 6 tomorrow (at current prices) if I could get them in CH… and I’m a petrolhead…
