Anyone ever bought anything from www.misco.ch

I just saw the laptop I want to buy for 200.- less on www.misco.ch than digitec et al.

Anyone ever bought anything from them and want to share their experiences?

Yes, we did at my last job. We've never bought a laptop there, just small IT stuff but we've never had a problem.

MISCO is a German company, so before you buy, check the keyboard, if it's German or Swiss-German. I bought a laptop from them and it has a German keyboard. Not a major issue, but messes me up switching between a Swiss keyboard at work and a German one at home.

...also, I returned one to them and it took 2 months a 2-3 phone calls until I got my credit card refunded. The central customer service is in Germany, but the warehouse to return things in CH is in Lucerne, so it's a little messy/complicated.

...but generally I would say MISCO is OK...

With misco, they sent me the product even though I hadn't paid for it. They sent me a bill along with it. In Switzerland, they wait for you to pay into their bank account before sending you the product. I prefer the Swiss way.

I tried buying a laptop from them last week with a credit card, and I'm not very impressed:

They said I would get an e-mail from them in a couple of hours if all was well, or a phone call otherwise. A day later, I had to call them. They said they were waiting for authorization from my bank, and that I should call my bank to speed the process. Sounded crazy, but I called my Swiss credit card company. They said this was crazy, the merchant should talk to the them. I called Misco, and they said they'd ask the "bank" again.

Another day, no news. I called Misco and this time was told that I was over my credit limit. Strange, since I was no where near it, but I asked to try a different card, this time American. I stayed on the phone while the charge was cleared, and was told the computer would ship in the next day or two. That evening I was called by the second CC company asking about the charge. I told them it was OK and asked whether they had approved it, and they said they had. Looking at my CC account online I see that the charge is indeed recorded.

Today, still no computer. I call Misco and they tell me that they are waiting to "prove" the credit card charge. I explain the story, and that I see that the charge is recorded, but they say there's nothing they can do, just wait. I asked whether it's possible that the order has shipped, and they say "no". I told them to cancel the order, and promised them that I would write up my experience at the websites where I had researched them.

It seems like several people have had luck with Misco, but I'm clearly not one of them.

This isn't an endorsement - however: I ordered a NETGEAR GS724T last week, paid by credit card and received the switch two days later - no issues whatsoever
