Anyone has got THE trick to change the bedding without getting a nervous breakdown?

This was me yesterday!

If an inventor comes up with an idea to change duvets, it will restore my sanity...and my dignity!

I'm assuming you start with the duvet cover inside out, right? Right?

Maybe you were using the wrong size bottom sheet for the mattress? We've got a UK size sheet for our guest bed and I have similar problems so when it's finally stretched across all the corners you could bounce a coin off the middle of the bed, it's so tight.

As for changing the duvet covers I normally turn it inside out, put my arms inside it, grabbing the insides of the corners, grab the corresponding corners of the duvet (which I've laid out flat on the bed) then sort of shuffle the duvet cover over it, not letting go of the corners until it's pretty much shaken all the way to the end of the duvet.

There are YouTube tutorials out there.

The first one is basically witchcraft.

YES! Mrs McTAVGE ensures I get that bit right, but then she loses me completely, having done "her side" and looking at me, in hopeless desperation, struggle with the wretched beast!

I take the duvet out of the cover, leave the clean cover and duvet on the beds and wait for one of the two men in the house to do it for me.

But when I shake the duvet, I crash my hands in the (sloppy ceiling) and end knocking down everything that happens to be on the bedside tables!

A real magician!

Have to lie on it to change the top bunk in a caravan. It's like pretending you're creating a chrysalis.

I think that a few years ago humankind must have reached peak intelligence because it seems to me that everywhere I look - politicians, entertainers and public alike- the world has just gone utterly stupid. Even changing duvet covers is now somehow a challenge.

Maybe it's time for Trump to start WWIII and give the cockroaches their turn.

You can be clumsy, uncoordinated, useless, comically ineffective...without being stupid! I object to my "challenged duvet changing skills" being compared to obnoxious, world peace threatening Trump!

Be a man about it:

Wow, it sure is and the video can't be stopped to study it carefully. LOL, I'll try that one anyway.

Are you sure you're not just putting on a show 'cause you want your better half to do it for you?

Btw. an elastic sheet you put one corner properly, then do the diagonal corner second, et voilà.

Incidentally changed mine today! When fighting with the duvet cover it occured to me ( ): nick 4 XL paper clamps from the office, use them to fix duvet corners inside cover corners, remove once done.

Practice not to take your eye out while shacking and bashing it into place!

If it were that simple!

Simply tell Mrs McTavage this is a woman's job, and men do not have the necessary particular brain skill.

Many women can't do DIY, and many men can't do housework, it is simple.

Stitch loops of ribbon into the inside corners of the duver cover and another ribbon on each corner of the duvet.

Its fun when you also have a couple of cats playing hide and seek!

I also despise the duvet changing process, however I have now found a way that works for me with minimum pain...

Lay duvet perfectly flat lengthways on the bed but going over the bed in a horizontal direction to give you easy access to both sides Turn duvet cover inside out Put arms into duvet cover and find the two far corners of the duvet With arms still in the corners of the duvet cover, grasp the two closest corners of the duvet and keep hold of them Slide the duvet cover over the duvet as far as it will go without you letting go, ensuring that the corners of the duvet stay at the corners of the duvet cover Let go of everything and go to the other side of the bed and carefully pull the duvet cover down over the duvet, keeping the corners intact and keeping it into the sides as flat as possible as you pull it all the way down as far as you can, keeping everything as straight and as orderly as possible. If needed, reach inside the duvet cover and pull the duvet inside to the corners at the end) Once you are satisfied that the duvet is inside flat and even all over, close the bottom of the duvet cover Grab the corners of all ends (both duvet and duvet cover together) and give them a brisk shake to get them fully into place Crack open a beer to de-stress

See, easy, and it only takes one person.
