Anyone used Medgate app health insurance?

Anyone used the Medgate app to access medical care? I'm looking at health insurance options for next year and considering a digital basic insurance model that would require going through the Medgate app before seeing a doctor (but if seeing a doctor is recommended then there is free choice of doctor).

Would be interested to hear anyone's experiences of using the app. I've had hausarzt model up to now and never wanted to do Telemed as I absolutely hate making phone calls. The app version is considerably cheaper and I wouldn't have to make phone calls so it's tempting...

I did.

Appointment in several languages is great.

But most times, they refer you to a normal GP as they cannot tell for sure what you have.

Hence you need 2 appointments.

So it is frustrating.

I switched to KPT which provide free teleline, free chat app, and a real GP as the first contact. I guess the first two would be only useful for getting sick note if I need it for a little bit over 3 days.

If you have nominated a fixed general practitioner then you dont have to call them up but you can if you want. One of the cheapest is Avenir (Medbase) which I have taken.(primaflex model) https://www.krankenkassenversicherung.ch/avenir/

I have been using sanitas telmed for one year, and due to some problems I am having I used it a lot.

This is how it works for me. The first time I had to either call medgate or write them. Then they made me talk with a doctor online. After talking with the doctor 10min they told me I should visit a GP. They proposed a GP to me which rejected me, then they allowed me to look for any GP I wanted.

From that point, the GP would make referrals, then I have to go to the medgate app and notify them that I will visit a doctor because my GP referred me. Then they register the doctor as "current treatments", but with an expiry date after 3 months... so it is a bit annoying because every 3 months or so I have to tell them I am still visiting doctor A, B, C.

The good thing is... you can talk with a doctor online and even get prescriptions without visiting any real doctor, which makes it cheaper if you have something easy to treat.

Now, in my case it has been a bit annoying, but I more or less got to see all the doctors I wanted and everything was covered. For next year I am thinking if I should change to free choice of doctor to be honest.
