Apartments with Gym?

Hey guys, I usually hit the gym once a day for 1/2 an hour, so I think it is waaaaaayyyyy more convenient to have one close by.

Back in Singapore and USA, we have condominiums... just a question: Do they have it in Switzerland as well? Apartment with a small shared gym..

Looking around Luzern...

Let me know & looking forward to hear from you!!

As far as I can tell, and I've been around for a bit, this does not exist. Most buildings here are built to be lived in. However, there's an abundance of gyms all around. In my city of roughly 10000 people, there's five gyms in walking distance of pretty much any building where people live. So don't worry, you'll get your exercise, maybe not in your own house, but close by.

And ask about the Qualitop-certificate, becaue if you send that to your insurance, you get up to half of what you pay for gym fees back. And that way, gym becomes really cheap. I would pay 850 CHF a year for my gym membership (I must say here that I'm getting the hardcore plan thing because I go there three times a week and all that) and I get 430.65 CHF back from my insurance.

Since I moved to CH, I don't feel that I need to go to the gym.. you can walk/bike all the time and you can buy some weights if you need to build muscle.. Lifestyle here is so different from US.. I'm often surprised to see some people looking for gym...

Just a thought.

buying weights is a big problem for me cause I move every 2 yrs.. so.. it's kinda troublesome (and expensive) to move all the weights around with me around the world.

Thanks for the info - I was hoping maybe if I stay a-top the Radisson in Luzern I get to use their fitness centre..

Well i guess maybe not then..

By then you will be strong enough to carry them all like feathers

Everyones different, but I am guessing you have not spent a winter here? Walking / running / cycling in the middle of winter can be absolutely brutal. Thats not to say that some people dont mind this kind of thing, but I'd rather the warmth and convenience of a gym during the winter months.

To answer the original question - I havent seen such a thing here. Only normal gyms - and even those arent that readily available compared to other countries (in my opinion).

You may not find an appartment with a gym just for the blocks use but there are places with gyms within the building, you would just have to get a membership.

When I was looking for a flat I saw one that had a gym on the ground floor of the building. It would have stopped all my excuses about not having time to go but sadly the flat was not suitable for us.
