Hello All,
I have searched the forum but didn’t find a complete answer and hence asking.
My background: Non-eu and living in Canton Vaud for 9.5 years (first 3 years on L and last 6.5 years on B) Have the necessary language certificate and satisfy other requirements to apply for an early/anticipé C permit Permit mentions “LCF Oct 2023”. So, I will be eligible for an “Ordinary” C permit in 6 months.
I am wondering if I should apply for an early C permit right away or wait another 6 months to have a regular C permit (with the completion of 10 years.
My questions are:
Do you know if the internal cantonal & federal approval process and processing time for an early C permit are different from an ordinary C permit? (Or, it’s same but just the eligibility criteria and language requirements are different?) If early C permit requests are subject to stricter evaluation and require approval at more authority levels (internally), considering my case, is it better to just wait 6 months and go through a ordinary C permit route?
I have read the Vaud cantonal website and it doesn’t give many details (application process is same). Hence asking for advice/practical experiences.
My motivation to apply for the C permit as soon as possible are:
As C permit approval could take quite some time, I want to start the process as soon as possible. But don’t want to choose difficult route and ultimately be slower (as in my case I can start ordinary C application in 6 months). Have the flexibility to move cantons sooner if necessary
Thank you very much in advance!
