WRS had one reporting that CERN’s gift shop would be selling Hamster wheels modelled after the large hydro n collider. This would help support the new mega collider.

I saw that one and was thinking “hmm, that’s not a terrible idea”

I liked following the Concord on skytracker from London to New York.

With the state of politics and the world today, April Fools seems particularly redundant and pointless e.g Some prick just introduced a bill in congress to rename Greenland to “Red, White, and Blueland”

Apparently Donnie is interested in a deal with Denmark. Give us Greenland and will give you back Newfoundland. The size and diversity of the 51st State is causing worries.

Newfoundland is part of Canada, not the U.S. or historically Denmark. So this doesn’t make geographical or political sense, he may as well be offering them Qatar.

And Canada will soon be part of ?

Please, can we stop with the April fools’ jokes about Trump? It’s just impossible to tell which of them is real.

ROTFL … :+1:

But (even if slightly off topic), i had a recent conversation with a senior IT manager for ktn Zurich. Apparently, ktn zurich leadership is (seriously) discussing adding English into ktn Zurich IT (websites, docs, employees, etc, perhaps similar to what admin.ch) …

It is an April Fools thread. I remember the jokes about Reagan - “the presidents brain is missing”. Unfortunately the Republican party at the moment seems to revel in having the piss taken out of them- they are actually making a theme of it at the moment. Weird.

The Russian TV state broadcaster RT fell for one published in the UK Defence Journal about a new Aircraft Carrier to be called the Prince Andrew:

Here’s the (now deleted) Russian article.

Translation:

This is according to the UK Defence Journal, citing a consultation document circulating in the UK Ministry of Defence.

‘The new vessel, tentatively named HMS Prince Andrew, will be created taking into account the experience gained in the design, construction and operation of its predecessors - HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales’, - the journalists report.

It is noted that the MoD representatives have not officially confirmed this information.

Brian Robertson, a senior analyst at the DMCS think tank, called the decision to expand the fleet ‘a waste of money and human lives.’ He emphasised that one strike would turn the aircraft carrier into a ‘pile of scrap metal’.

Earlier, the British Defence Ministry sent a submarine to follow the Russian oceanographic vessel Yantar in the English Channel.
