Architecture salary question

Does anyone know the approximate average salaries in Switzerland of architects or landscape architects? I've been trying to find them, but so far have been unable. When I move, I'll be fresh out of grad school.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there. I am a civil engineer also looking for a job now. You should expect for entry level around 75000-85000 depends on your degrees and qualifications. I would say the 75000 plus minus something anyway would be what you could deffinitely negotiate. the numbers come out from the nual book on salaries published by SIA, www.sia.ch , the swiss institutes of engineers and architects. If you speak a bit of german, italian or french I would advice you to buy t from their web page. Keep also in mind that negotiations here can be a bit...well...for young people the company can always argue that they will take some risk taking you and it will time to learn and blablabla...so while when youa re asked how much you expect you should not say something unrealistic if you have e.g. good marks and maybe a practice in an office for the sumer then you can propose a 5-10% more since the company in most cases will eventually make a proposal aroun 5-10% less than what you proposed!Good luck!

Eh?

No doubt you know about the work permit detail I hope.

I found that quote after I posted (had to sort through a German website), and that's actually for regular architecture. I'm either going into a specialized architecture program (which goes into architecture, but also goes very specifically into the healthcare industry) or landscape architecture.

And it's 3+ years away, so I don't have to worry about the work permit, yet.

I just have to plan stuff way ahead! It's in my nature...

My gf's about to look for a job as an architect. She's got 10 years experience with buliding public buildings and private housing, both apt.buildings and villas. And has won a few awards for her work. All this, though, in Sweden. Now we're here.

Language wise, she's studied German full time over the last seven months and has taken the Certifikat Deutsch (however that's spelled, I've not studied any German at all so far).

Any idea what would be a reasonable salary request?
