are American law courses and degrees (JD) useless in CH?

Obviously, the anglosphere (US/Canada/UK/Australia/NZ) uses common law, while the rest of the world uses civil law. The former is far more adversarial (lawyers play a major role, laws are set by precedent, more grey areas, etc), while the latter is more statute based (judges play a bigger role, lawyers not so much, more efficient, etc).

Anyways, my question, if an American has taken courses at a US law school, and/or obtained his Juris Doctor (JD), would this be of any use in (non UK) Europe such as Switzerland?

Think big picture (as in, would it help in the formation of a GmbH, etc?)

Assume he has no practical experience, and only went to law school in the US "for fun".

Would love to hear Swiss lawyers chime in.

Mods, could this post perhaps be merged into that thread, please?

About as much use as a chocolate tea pot unless they have practical experience combined with some management experience which would allow them to possibly land a position with an MNC.
