I was wondering if any of you are living in Geneva and know any good Japanese "épicerie" type stores in the area?
I know some sushi places have Japanese snacks made from rice, wasabi roasted nuts etc., but those are kind of classic and boring. I'm looking for some more interesting flavors like tiny whole crabs that you can eat as a snack, tiny fried fish as a drinking accompaniment, and other original flavors I've heard about from people who lived in Japan.
Does such a place exist in the Geneva area or is it simply considered too "different" for Switzerland?
Uchitomi is a Japanese supermarket: Rue Ferrier 13, 1202 Geneva. You can find everything there: from take away sushi, salads, frozen food to desserts, drinks, rice, etc. Quite expensive though
Uchitomi has the biggest selection of Japanese products. You can also order online but the selection is very small. Like Diana73 said they are quite expensive but at the same time if you go to an Italian deli they're quite expensive too and Italy is much closer than Japan...I'm from Japan and knowing how much I would be spending back home makes me shake my head but no choice when you're craving for something! Japanese food has become a treat for me!
