Are there any gundog training or sniffer dog training schools in Luzern or Zug?

I'm looking to start training my Cocker Spaniel to be a gundog and also he said he really wants to be a drug/explosive/truffle sniffer dog too.

He loves hunting for hidden objects around the house and outdoors and can do it on floor, chair and work surface heights. He can fetch two objects by name and will also find my partner by name too (in the house).

He also is getting pretty good at his search patterns outside and is a great water retriever (even in cold swiss lakes!!)

(We train with a retired 'catastrophy dog' who used to do search/rescue after fires or explosions. I am in awe of what he can do - and he loves every minute of his 'job', even now as a retired senior he is eager to practice. I'll ask his owner if she has any contacts in Luzern and get back to you.)

Also, some Hundeverein (dog clubs) or Hundeschule (training schools) will offer tracking training courses. Call around to the schools in your area and ask.

We do tracking training just for fun with my dogs. Gives the youngster a chance to work on self control, and is a great way to keep the oldie (a deaf guy who is now going blind) engaged and mentally active. We only train casually and strictly for fun, we are not involved in any competitions or serious clubs - we do this as part of our Familienhund and Seniorhund classes.

I see under their events calendar there is an 'Allgemein Jagdschulung' day... which would lead me to believe there is some kind of hunting/gun dog training going on.

She runs courses for gun dog and search exercises as well as the usual. She speaks good English too (if you don't speak a lot of German). Her training venue is about 15 minutes' drive from Zug town.
