Are there camera surveillance in hotel room/main hall in CH?

Hello people

Is there anyone of you knows something about the hotels in CH? I heard they have camera inside hotel room. I don't feel well with the idea someone is watching me like a weekend movie ( to see my body).

And normally where are the usual positions they install the camera? Inside the room or main hall or elevators? Reception area?

I understand why they put camera at the main hall, hotels are not really safe as their look. Anyone can walks in proudly. But inside the room is strongly against my privacy.

Any ideas/experiences?

Thank you

Cameras in the rooms?

Where have you heard that?

Nonsense.

Never heard of that before.

Cameras in hotel rooms, I don't think so. Whoever told you that is probably pulling your leg.

It doesn't happen, someone has been teasing you.

They have to subsidise Switzerland's notoriously cheap hotel rooms somehow.

At least put some underwear on before posting on EF! I almost had to look away.

The tendency in Switzerland is not to use cameras in the bedrooms but instead to use two way mirrors. These are often used for collecting evidence of infidelity, providing information for blackmail etc. Of course you are not the only person to be worried about this and here are some tips on testing the mirror:

Cruel, very cruel. The OP is obviously very troubled... maybe just cover it with a spare bed sheet or something.

I'm sure she will realise that she is being teased here and should learn that not all posts on the English Forum are to be taken seriously.

Saying that, I don't know for sure, but it is possible that there are cameras in public areas such as the reception in some hotels.

I'm sure there are cameras in public areas such as reception in of lots of hotels but unless you're doing something you shouldn't then they're not generally anything to be concerned about.

I suspect full video recordings of any sexual encounters are recorded & sent to the Swiss authorities, as they already have passport information of the people in the room.

IR video cameras will work in total darkness but only give a black & white image, so they would prefer you leave the lights on

So how's that hotel contract going, FMF?

Since the cost of cameras is now below £10 including shipping http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNCHAN-80...item2592b3ef86

The bottom has fallen out of the market.

Thank you everyone for your frank thoughts.

Actually they do have camera surveillance in hotel rooms somewhere. It could be installed by anyone, from the hotel itself or a curious buddy... to know where you put your money, paper or at least record a charming "nude art". And I'm now searching for ways to recognize a hidden camera. This post:

OK, it's in private place. Out of question. But in public area like main hall or reception, usually how long do they keep the camera surveillance footage? Is it against the law to keep such footage in a long timeframe? I see there's camera in public transport here CH.

I don't do anything "dark", but feel a bit irritated when someone knows clearly what I do. For no reason.

What kind of hotel do you plan stay in?? Do you pay by the hour??

Absolutely no reputable hotel has cameras in the room, pure paranoia.

Jeeeeze .. Smoke Detector!!

Some people need a tin foil hat.

I think the OP must have once seen this film, and it's scarred him, subconsciously:
