Aren't you cold???...

Today was my first day back at work in Switzerland since February -I work from California and Switzerland-and I was so proud to wear my new fabulous winter clothes. At least I thought they were winter clothes.

Outfitted by Banana Republic, I wore an 88% wool black & white combo boat-neck dress with cap sleeves and an empire waist. I added a stretch black belt trimmed in leather, a pair of CK tights and finished off my look with a scrumptious pair of Mary Janes with red soles. So all in all, I felt quite confident.

My office was very well heated, so I didn’t feel the slightest bit of chill. Besides, I dressed well enough. Next thing I know I hear a knock at the door and someone saying, Hast du nicht kalt? The next person came to say hello 30 minutes later and asked, Are you warm in that? The next after lunch said, Wow coming from a warm place I thought that you would be cold. And the last said, Aren’t you cold?

NO!!! I AM NOT COLD! But at the end of the day I was happy for two reasons:

1. I’m ecstatic that I can wear feminine clothes in the winter and still be comfortable.

2. How cool that I’ve adapted to the weather so much that even natives ask me “Aren’t you cold?”

she looks hot to me

Is that a picture of your or of your clothes?

Classy. Why would someone worry if you are cold or not when it looks soooo pretty? Beats me. It's the quality of fabric that matters, very true. This lady does need something a little more original, don't you think? Less sterile?

I learned that here people have: summer clothes, snow clothes, rain clothes and sport clothes. Not much in between and everything hundred times toned down as oposed to what I am used to in our nutty and trés funky part of world. Practicality and jeans with huddies rule our part of CH, so sad. French clothes are hot, though.

If peeps only knew that wearing heels on icy road actually makes them less slippery than flats. Stripy stockings are a must too, to wake up sleepy villagers in this gray functionality, yo! Bring on funky solitaires, sleek knits and tailored talking-pieces..

I still can't figure out why you have to go through the brands and makes of the cloths so thoroughly... anyway, arn't you cold?!

I'm into 50's stuff that I get form the thrift store. I have a couple of pencil skirt suits like this, she should lose the hat! With a pencil skirt you create your won heat from the friction as you walk.

Don't know about others but at least I have been warmed up sufficiently

Considering most interior spaces are adequately heated, there is no need for layers of clothing in the office. Yet I got the same question last week for wearing a short-sleeved shirt. If I got cold, I put on a sweater.

Of course I have a very heavy winter coat. But that's for outside!

This is insufficient. I think we need extra evidence to conclusively prove (beyond the tiniest doubt) that you aren't cold.

So can you post some more picture in similar "comfortable" winter clothing?

Considering the fact they wear Jeans, jackets and boots on a 30 degrees day of august, I'm not surprise to see them freezing in a 5 degrees.

I am wearing my CK stripped pj bottoms made out of 100% cotton and my ten year old dark blue Uni of Exeter hooded jumper. I am not cold as well.

Judging by the photo in her blog, no, it isn't.

Erm her other thread shows she likes posting pictures of models in erm 'threads'

Of course they're models! There's a clear skin color difference between the girls in my threads and my profile pic. Never said it was me. But to answer the question from before, yes that's the exact dress I was wearing and no its not me.

Somebody feed her a cheezeburger

I think it's nice that work colleagues took the time to check that the OP was comfortable. So much of the world now doesn't give a flying fandango how the next person is feeling.

You obviously work in a caring environment - enjoy it.

I want to force feed her lard

why? she look's like she's got a perfect figure.

can i just suggest to remember that day when summer comes around and when you see your colleagues in their jeans on a boiling hot day say "aren't you hot in that?" hahaha! i really find it repulsive how the swiss sweat into jeans on a hot day. disgusting. whatever about fashion, but its unhygienic.
