Assembling Ikea Furniture Need Help

If anyone on the forum has or ever had a Ikea Sultan Lade (google translates lade as drawer but it is a bed frame) can you please send me pictures!!

I recieved this bed frame from a friend over six months ago without any instructions or pictures of what it should look like, last sunday i finally got my lazy butt off the couch and armed with common sense and google images managed to assemble most of it i would say around 80%.

But now i am left with a few pieces and i have no idea where they are supposed to fit/go, which is why i am reaching out to anyone on the forum who could help me out by sending some pictures mainly of the horizontal section where the mattress would lie.

Hoping to hear from someone soon!

Have you checked out ikea.ch ? from what I can tell from the name, you are describing just the slatted base which is common to a lot of their products .

Maybe one of their other products has a usable assembly guide .

IKEA will happily give you a copy of the original instructions, just go to customer service. They will also give you any bits you are missing (If they have them)

I searched IKEA and found only the slats, not the bed,

if all else fails... get a bigger hammer

Yes, the "lade" product on the IKEA site looks like a set of slats that go under the mattress -- There's nothing to assemble.

Can you post a picture of the parts?

You can only earn yourself true "Man Points" by building things without the instructions.

For this, I think you can pat yourself on the back, and know you did yourself proud !!!

From here, I would suggest you shake it and see what wobbles...... then look at the parts left over to see where you think they will fit.

If there is no wobble........ there is no problem.

Don't go to the dark side . Follow this through without the instructions.

If you need to, post some pics of what parts you have left over and we can see if we can help you from there.

80% done.. so i am 80% of a man!!!

Yes i will try to figure out the rest today evening and will post pictures of what it looks like.. good news no wobble but i want to prevent the eventual crumbling of the bed on to the floor!!

Unless they're bunk beds I think you'll be okay...

If they are bunk beds, I advise you call top bunk...

Hi Bison, I made that bed frame a few days ago, don't think I could of done it without the instructions! I can send you mind if you like.

Kate

Refrain from this evil temptation Bison...... The Devil is trying to work his magic.

I implied that 'attempting' to build without instructions is how you gain your 'man points'. The fact that the bed doesn't wobble means you have earnt those points.

It is Ikea's fault for providing unnecessary components.

Building Ikea furniture is like Lego for adults.

Make sure you post a pic of the bed, and the offending surplus building components.

Maybe? - they have a lot of instructions including ones for a 'sultan' bed frames

Everyone thanks a lot for the information, status on the assmebly project, one piece missing and two additional pieces which i have no idea what they are for. pics below for anyone with ideas(the first photo is of two pieces that dont really go anywhere)

BTW so far done without any instructions!!

I have that bed at home, unassembled. I'll see if I can get my hands on the instructions.

NOOooooo !!!!

Just post a picture of your bed..... this is so much more fun.

OK,

What I don't get is you have two wooden sections, and no bolts.

The left bed head seems to have one iron rod missing, but you have one wooden strut installed (with two spares, that doesn't add up).

Firstly,

Go and look at all of the frame work and see where there are 'holes'.

My guess is that it's not just that you have parts left over.... but rather, you don't have enough parts.

Keep at it without the instructions - I think you're a legend for getting this far.

If you are hell stuck, feel free to PM me and I'll gladly help you out.

I've build so much Ikea stuff in my life it's not funny, and I never use the instructions.... and I never have stuff left over (well.... not recently anyway).

So we agree that it should look like this attachment?

If so, I can't see where the other timber piece goes, and yes, where is the other verticle iron rod from the left side?

In any case, you have the "Work Bench" section of the bed sorted, it seems we are trying to fix the decorative part.

I guess the two pieces have nothing to do with the bed frame.

So two pieces missing which î hope to find in Ikea this weekend

vertical piece, and two iron rods.

Thanks again everyone.
