Assura and Pharmacies

Hello Everybody,

I am writing because I do have a question on the Assura base insurance.

I was trying to have an offering on the comparis site and I have seen a note that was basically saying that, in order to have a reimbursement for the medicines/prescriptions I need to buy in specifics pharmacies from a list.

I have checked and I have seen that in Basel-Stadt there is only one in St.Jacob.

Do you have experience in this topic?

Thank you

Nicola

No idea, but similar to accepting that you can only go to one specific doctor, that would mean you can only go to one specific pharmacy. Or you ́d have to pay yourself I would expect.

Did you give them a call to see whether they do allow other pharmacies?

Depending on were you live in Basel, could be of interest also the one in Binningen, Gorenmattstrasse 17.

You MUST buy from a Sunstore apotheke, according to Assura, unless you are abroad or in case of an emergency (a real medical one). They will give you a special receipt you can send to Assura for a full or partial refund.

I think I sorted out.

Comparis is proposing to types.

One is the PharmaMed which requires the Sun Pharmacy the other types (more expensive) indeed not.

By the way I have contacted them actually.

Don't see a contact mail address.

Is a little bit complicate, you must use a specific form on their website:

https://it.assura.ch/cassa-malati/do...ttere-generale (italian)

better by phone, imho: 0916115665 italian line.

Afaik, with the model Assuracall you have just one pharmacy in Basel and one online. With Pharmamed you have the Sunstore network, free choiche with other models.

Give them a call, they are very nice and will explain everything. With the email form I never received a satisfactory answer.

Assura are the worst when it comes to reimbursements, I know because I am with them. Why? Because they are the cheapest...you get what you pay for.

If I get a prescription for medication at a pharmacy, or receive a doctor's bill, I have to pay them straight up, then I have to print and then send off my receipts/invoices by post for them to reimburse me, and often they query what has been sent. My doctor sighs every time I remind him I am with Assura, "they are the worst, they often refuse to pay out for treatment!" which happened to me on numerous occasions following sport injuries. My age seemed to be the problem, with them siting that these problems must have originated years before. Many friends I know are with Atupri, and other caisses maladies, and it seems far more straight forward for their reimbursement.
