I'm an Australian lawyer and I moved to Paris this year to look for job opportunities in Western Europe. I would really like to work in Switzerland!
My French is good (improving every day) which sadly means that my German is lagging behind (still very basic German).
I love pilates, electronic music (actually, all music except country and western - sorry if I've offended anyone!), and anything to do with food and cooking. I've just started running again after a break and am loving the feeling of just "moving".
I would be happy to help anyone with contacts or information on Australia, Asia or Paris, so please dont hesitate to ask.
I look forward to chatting with more of you in the near future
If you are interested in working in Switzerland in the legal profession, the best place to find a job remotely is via the Swiss recruitment site http://www.qual.ch which specializes in careers for very highly qualified professionals.
Industry is quite keen to have common law lawyers , there's a shortage in CH (for obvious reasons) but law firms? London likes Oz lawyers on short term contracts, but in a civil law country, not sure it will be the same. If your interested in in house work, try some of the big pharmas, engineering companies maybe?
I just stumbled across this post and I am interested how our Australian friend went finding employment in Ch.
I myself will be moving to Ch in 4-5 months. As a commercial lawyer with two years experience (mid-tier, general commercial & litigation experience), I am interested how the market is treating english only speaking lawyers.
Also, are Swiss firms still "sponsoring' non eu & non swiss lawyers?
