Autociel.ch/buying a car

Have recently been looking in to buying a car.

As I am nearly always at work I thought I would try this company www.autociel.ch

Their website advertises that they can get the best prices because of their extensive dealer network in Switzerland and Germany.

Having offered me a car that was advertised on autoscout for the dealer price plus 750fr I'm not sure what they're selling anymore.

Why don't I just take the train to dealer and buy the thing myself.

My expectation is that a cash buyer could get as much as 10% off the sticker price for a premium used car.

Is that not how things operate in Switzerland?

I don`t think they will give you 10% rebate even you pay cash. I belive some would give you a discount only if you lease the car.

It is prob for the "making the car ready " cost

mine was 500 chf for a vaccuum, plates (50chf) and paperwork....This was added to the sticker price

I bought my car from them, then was shocked by the delivery cost, plates, registration etc. No 'price you see is the price you pay' here I-m afraid.

I did get the car I wanted for less than the local dealer would sell it though.

I'm thinking of using them to buy a car from Germany as the conversion is very good right now. Anyone else had any experience of using this company.

I've been quoted about 4000 chf for costs/fees, it still seems ok compared to buying in CH.

Did you pay the dealer directly?

Thanks

on premium cars it is not unreasonable to get 10-20% off...no matter cash or lease...if you are not getting it than you are simply not negotiationg well...

It depends on the dealer. I've got good deals on Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari (in one case, CHF 100k off). But then the BMW dealer refused to budge on price and all I got was a set of winters

It is because you are buying in bulk Andrew

I am having major heartache with a car I bought off this company and would suggest that you do your own paperwork, get your own plates and get any car you buy checked over by a mechanic you trust.

You get charged for the luxury of having a car delivered to your door with a set of keys ready to go. Unfortunately you pay for this service and have to trust them that the car you bought is good - in my case the car has proven to be an expensive case of hubris on their part and I am pretty upset by the whole affair and cannot in all honesty recommend them.

Although this may have pushed the boarders for commercial activity on the forum I really appreciate Markus posting and explaining the setup.
