Average salary in Lugano

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea on an average salary in ticino/Lugano for someone in their first job out of university (graduated with an M.Sc in management) ? I've interned with the same company for 6 months and they're considering hiring me now.

It's going to be a desk job in marketing mainly involving product and market analysis

I don't know if your sector suffers salary dumping like others, anyway i would guess something like 4k-5k for full time.

The salarium calculator gives me a number waaaay higher than what i've been offered which is less than 4k a month gross + insurance paid for to a limit.

Of course, I dont have a car or the associated payments which knocks off a huge part of the expenses, but I'm from a Non-EU country

I don't mind if the salary is not a fancy number, but i just dont want to get taken for a ride

It's common for a first year in today's times sadly, there's a lot of competition from italians who are willing to accept even less, some swiss would probably say no to that salary though, of course keep looking for better options and ask for a raise in the next 6 months. Consider a cleaning lady with no experience makes about 3200 chf, so at least 4k should be mandatory imho.

What do you mean by "insurance paid"? you mean the sussidi cantonali della cassa malati?
