Baby Formula for Visitors in Switzerland

Hi All,

I have family with their 3 month old baby from South Africa coming to visit in Zurich at the end of this week. They are currently using a baby formula called Novalac AC Infant formula: https://www.dischem.co.za/novalac-ac...-formula-800g/

I can't seem to find the Novalac brand here, is there a best/most preferred brand here in Switzerland?

Thanks!

All those diff brands come from the same kind of factory's (and often even from the same factory) unless the kid has allergies it does not matter which one you buy, just grab Hipps or Aptamil

I figured as much - Aptamil seems to be the closest, even the wording is similar and comes in the exact same weights.

Thanks - I don't have the first clue of babies, let alone the formula they need

You could be a bit cheeky and ask in a couple of pharmacies if they've got some formula milk samples to try. They normally come in a little sachet then the mother can try them out when she arrives and see which the baby prefers.

If you buy a big box of one variety and the baby won't touch it, it's a waste.

Just an FYI - formula is expensive in Switzerland and much less expensive in other European countries. Aptamil is also sold under the brand name Nutrilon elsewhere in Europe, but it's exactly the same stuff. We used to order from this company for formula that was ~50% cheaper than Swiss prices:

Just be careful that many countries outside of Switzerland use Palm Oil in their formulas. Carrefour has a Bio one without it, as an example
