bagels in Lausanne

I would love to find a place that has fresh bagels in the morning and tasty cream cheese. May be even some lox? Is there such a place in/near Lausanne?

Thanks.

The only place I've ever seen "real' bagels is at Starbucks. It comes with one little thing of Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Do you know where the 2 Starbucks are in Lausanne?

I've been searching for MONTHS for a good bagel and still haven't found one. I'm too chicken to order them online, and too inept to try making them.

There aren't... no such a thing. The gross things sold as "bagels" in coop are a dishonour to the name...

Now, Starbucks has them, a mile from the actual taste and softness, but you may want to try that.

For better than that, you may have to go to H&H... but that will require a flight.

Thinking of that, I wonder if they would ship internationally....

YES they do... worldwide. By the dozen for normal size, or by 3 dozens for mini bagels. They freeze beautifully... but it comes to a price: 158.34 US of shipping - but you get them next day!

To place international orders, call 1-800-NY-BAGEL ( 1-800-692-2435).

I guess one can say - it all come for a price.

I make my own. Starbucks bagels are ring-shaped bread rolls. You cannot get a proper bagel in Switzerland, to the best of my knowledge. However a weekend in Prague is cheap, and it's the home of bagels. http://www.bohemiabagel.cz/

I make my own.

RECIPE FOR BAGELS from the book “How To Be A Domestic Goddess"

best bagel recipe I've ever found

While located in Baar, these guys make NY style bagels and ship all over CH:

They also bill themselves as an "all natural" bakery.

Thanks Sky

Any chance you might post the recipe you use from 'how do be a domestic goddess'? I used to have one for the bread machine I had in the US but I don't anymore. Thanks.

Just in case Sky isn't around. If you Google 'bagel recipes' Nigella's comes up along with very many others.
