Baking soda, baking powder

Where do I find these... and what is Baking soda called here?

Backnatron. Baking powder is Backpulver.

www.dict.cc or www.leo.org can help with other curiosities.

Sodium bicarbonate, buy it in small pots of about 200grams in any pharmacy or drogerie. You can also buy is silly little packets in the super market at very inflated prices. The product is exactly the same.

I suspect this is a wind-up ... 2.5 years on EF and you've only just found out about The Baking Soda Issue here in CH?

dont be snotty... just answer the question , or dont... I just needed the word for it so I could buy it.

Given your post history on EF and resultant rep to date, it looks like you'd know what a snotty post looks like. I apologise unreservedly for my snottiness. I do hope the helpful posts in this thread and in countless other threads on EF on this very subject, easily found if you search the forum, will help you to find baking soda in Switzerland.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any help finding brown sugar here.

Are you wholesaler of Brown sugar (1kg bricks) or retailer (1gram packets) ?

Just a concerned EF member, here to help.

Hi guys,

I am looking for lye water (Potassium Carbonate & Sodium Bi-Carbonate solution) like pix below. Do you know where to buy?

See nothing wrong with your post.

Unfortunately, many here believe they have real power.

migro back pulver

I need to buy some today but I couldn't find anything that resembled it in the supermarket Many thanks in advance.

Natrium bicarbonate - they come in little packs of 5g.

Natron. Look in the baking section.

There's an echo in here...

Hi,

Note that baking soda is not the same as baking powder.

Baking Powder is "Backpulver" in German.

Baking Soda is "Speisesoda", 'Backsoda" or "Speisenatron".

It is usually sold under the following brand names: "KaiserNatron" or "Bullrich-Salz

Google and EF Forum search are your friends, don't ignore them

Happy baking

Joey

Hello All...I wanted to make some pancakes and banana bread, but unfortunately I need baking soda and baking powder: Do they use these in Switzerland and if so, where the heck can I find them??

Baking powder = Backpulver - Migros, Coop

Baking soda - go to peacefoods - they are on the same street as the Lättich swimming pool in Baar
