I know, just heard more.
Can you imagine the : “Oh fuck!” Moment.
Just need to search for US police bodycam footage on YouTube.
Plenty of „Oh fuck“ moments there.
Yeah, but no blue on cammo, not even the Yanks have managed that and the Amies are crazy.
Does the US Army ever train outside their military training grounds?
Europe (and Germany especially) is much denser populated than the US.
Another jaw dropping piece of insanity.
Looks like Germany is paying Afghanis applying for asylum to Germany to stay in Afghanistan.
Meaning that they will use some of the money to buy new identities and rinse and repeat.
Who thinks these things up and what are they smoking?
It’s just a variant of “kicking the can down the road”, really.
AFAIK it’s only for those that were once employed by German forces in Afghanistan (plus family) and to whom a previous government pledged to support their asylum claims.
The problem is: there’s likely no jobs for most of these in Germany and if they don’t already come with some psychological deformations, staying in a community-shelter for a couple of months with only WhatsApp and TikTok as entertainment will make sure they develop one.
Pensioners and politicians are destroying this country faster than Bomber Harris wiped out Dresden ![]()
Well, that was a warcrime regardless of what anybody says
I’ll agree with you that the todays crop of politicians are ruining the country, but pensioners… really?
They (and soon to be me) have paid into the system and still do via taxes on their pensions. I dont know if you have been following German politcs lately but it seems that they want to reduce the expexlcted pensions increase from 2031, until then should stay stable at 48%
The Junge Union is against it and threaten to torpedo März’s pension package.
It is getti g to the poi t where you dont want to be a pensioner in Germany.
There’s going to be an echo all over the EU I’m afraid within the next decade, and in Switzerland too
Would be great to hibernate for 2-3 decades to escape the peak of the issue
Who do you think votes in the same politicians again and again?
Hmm! Point taken.
But think about it another way…
Which demographic has seen politicians and their ideas come and go and with each coming and going have seen their country going more and more to shit in a handbasket (I think the saying goes) so why should they not look back at periods where things were subjectively better and try via their vote to get that back?
Oh this is a good one!
Trump wants Germany to take over command of Nato in Europe.
Time to dust off the first lines of the National anthem and learn “Erika”
That is a misrepresentation of what was said: From the Times:
Trump ‘wants Germany to take command of Nato in Europe’
A US envoy has suggested that Berlin should eventually appoint the commander of the alliance’s forces on the continent, upending more than 70 years of tradition
You are passing on a typically bad newspaper headline. What was being discussed was the USA looking at giving away its automatic leading role in NATO to the Western European countries, one of which is Germany. I don’t often agree with the Trump administration (not sure they are bothered about this) but on this subject, why not? The bigger issue is to keep the USA committed to NATO.
Of course from a European perspective I think the issue is less Erika and more that they would be concerned about cohesion -The USA is independent of European squabbling.
I was just being a sarcastic dickhead.
But you live in a different reality, so please treat the people who lead peaceful lives across the border with sensitivity ![]()
He, my reality is a nice place, you should visit someday, bring beer.
For some reason my head put a comma between sarcastic and the rest.
shoot, me too
Uff! A report on the wireless pricked my ears.
It would seem that Germany is losing somewhere between 7.000 and 12.000 jobs a month.
The reasons stated as being: One, unaffordable energy costs, two, high wage costs with Burocracy as a close contender for third place.
Add benefits for a massive unemployable influx of “refugees” into the mix and you see how the points are set.
Sounds a bit like Britain!
wait, so with the natural progression of retired to working ratio of this century, the total starts to look more like exponential curve … to an economy collapse
