Basel English Panto Group - Tickets
While visiting the Basel Christmas market, why not take in a theatre show? The Basel English Panto Group are performing Peter Pan 12th - 15th December, with two shows on Saturday and Sunday.
For those who don’t know this amazing theatrical art form (oh yes it is!), Panto is short for Pantomime. Now, in German and other languages, this word means silence. Marcel Marceau. But the English word for such stuff is “mime”.
Pantomime is a tradition stretching back hundreds of years. Over time it has evolved into a play based on a well-known story, with singing, dancing and really terrible jokes. Don’t be deceived. This isn’t just for kids. Adults should find it highly entertaining too. In the last few years we’ve even had a sizable portion of our audience from the local Swiss population!
