i can't really say i love winter. i don't love it. it looks beautiful sometimes, i like to go sledding. but in order for me to truly enjoy winter- the conditions have to be right- fireplace, mulled wine, warm blankets, etc.
i'd much prefer hot and humid weather that is accompanied by sand and waves. but, winter surrounded by beautiful snow covered mountains as opposed to wet snow and sky scrapers isn't all that bad.
That's why I love winter too

Crisp, cold, clean air.
Misty mornings which break into stunning views of the alps.
Just enough snow to turn everything magic white..but not disrupt daily life.
The kids building a snowman in the backyard.
Skiing, and the whole magical world on the slopes.
Christmas.
Reminder of how Spring/Summer/Fall are here and the comfort of knowing they will soon return.
Sitting in our incredibly well insulated/heated Swiss house while it's minus outside.
A beautiful placemarker in time to remember family events.

One benefit of Winter is to truly enjoy a drink. An alcoholic drink I mean.
I mean during the warmer season I just don't drink wine, or a glass of Porto, some Bailey ... I'm not in the mood for it at all !!!
But when it gets cold, gosh how good and pleasant it all feels.
You're drinking the wrong stuff. You want a pint of cider in the Summer months.

cross-country skiing and that is all. I do not like Winter past mid Jan.
Snow - I get pleasure just from walking through a snowfall. And skiing and sledging are ace.
Food - I love comforting, hearty winter food. Plenty of deftig food here in Switzerland too.
Sleep - I find it easier to keep warm in the Winter than to keep cool in the Summer. This is mainly because my flat has central heating, but no air conditioning.
Another two benefits. Best served together.
I can write my name in the snow with yellow ink....
no little silly bugs, that's truly a nice thing about winter and the birds, love watching the birds.
Winter more than 2 months a year is miserable!
