EF member SWINGE (currently in Australia until 1st April) can help you he has an online store www.bawdenbespoke.com.au selling shirts, he will be offering suits as well soon through a new website.
This may not be the most helpful piece of information, but given typical prices for bespoke tailoring in Switzerland you might want to consider a short holiday somewhere horrible such as Dubai, which does have considerable cheaper tailors.
Thanks for that. I saw the flyer but am still hesitant to get suits made "remotely" I get my custom-made shirts from Maxwell's in HK and never had a problem but am not ready yet to try suits
A basic two-piece suit starts at EUR2'300 and works up from there based on materials and finishing, but the quality is as good as something twice the price from London. They make regular European tours, so it's worth checking their itinerary to see when they're next in/near Zurich.
There is a spate of tailors in Zurich, especially around the banking area, which has led to a more competitive price, even against Thai/Hong Kong options:
Nice looking place on Stockerstrasse, friendly staff:
I'd like to order some made to measure shirts and perhaps a waistcoat or two. Mass market tailoring is fine. I saw the suitart.com website, but also noticed some posts indicating they have sometimes questionable service.
Can anyone make some recommendations for a place I could walk into, be measured, choose style and fabric from samples, and have it within two weeks.
If there is anyone with a particularly good range of fabrics for waistcoats, that would be helpful too.
IF you are not to far from German border, then shopping their can be an eye opener. I like Singen. If you find something that needs altering then the smaller shops can generally make alterations.
