Best gift for a Friend who is soon becoming a father

What could be best gift for a friend on becoming father.

I have no clue how this think work in Switzerland (I used to write Swiss before, but after reading some threads I think Switzerland will save me from some groans) . Back in my home country people usually gift the baby (mostly some cash in his/her hands) or bring some toys and baby stuff. But here I have ???

any ideas people .. would appreciate..

What does " soo becoming a father" mean? He's absolutely, definitely the father? Or his partner is giving birth to the most enormous baby ever?

A good book for fatherhood, written by fathers for fathers. I can recommend an excellent one, only i have totally forgotten the author and title. That is what children do to you...

I think something for the kid would be useful. If it's their first you might get something like lego duplo starter packs, dads love to play that with their kids.
