I'm currently going through sooo many offers online and was wondering if someone has any website they can recommend, i.e. you have used before to create and get photo albums printed? Last time I've done it (back in the UK) it took me hours(!) for one album, so I gave up very early.
So, what's your favourite online printing service over here?
Easiest to use : Apple via iPhoto. But very expensive.
Best quality : believe it or not, Migros. Also cheap and you can pick up your order from your nearest Migros.
I can also recommend Fujifilm for quality prints, but have not tried their photobook.
I tried ifolor once a few years ago and was very disappointed when my pics were clearly pixelated. Looked as if I used a very low resolution camera to take my pics. I have not tried them lately though.
I've used Migros, ifolor and Apple (Apple just for calendars due to price). Apple clearly the best and easiest (if you are using a Mac!)
Was very pleased with quality of ifolor photo albums, but created them on PC vs Mac. Have downloaded the new Mac software and quite disappointed. Very low-feature, so would definitely stick to PC if wanting to do anything special with your album.
Migros has good quality for the price, but I thought the ifolor books were better overall quality. Last year, Migros "lost" one of my orders, so am a bit biased against them at the moment!
Does migros provide software to create albums? Where can I find it.
I used the mac version of ifolor 2 weeks ago and it was fine for my needs. I tried the iPhoto on Mac it's clearly superior in terms of design but I did not manage to find how much it's going to cost me (but knowing apple I guessed it's going to be expensive).
I'm using a Mac, but I don't use iPhoto as it cracks down too quickly on the amount of my picture database. So I'd prefer to use a third party software, but it should be as easy to use as on a PC. Migros sounds good. Like the idea to pick it up locally.
I have a personal grudge against iFolor, because they rip off Swiss customers. They charge people ordering from Germany drastically less for the same product, manufactured at the same place (in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland) than what they want from Swiss customers.
For those who recommend Apple: I agree, they offer great results - however, you can get the very same product for considerably less if you order directly from Kodak. Apple simply re-sells Kodak Gallery products.
Hi, I know my reply comes a little bit late, but it still might be helpful to some people looking to print their photo books. I've only tried Red-Fly (red-fly.com) but I was happy with the results. Their software is very intuitive and they have reasonable prices. I liked their templates, didn't like their clip art but it's still nice that you can customize everything.
Came across this thread and thought to also give thumbs up to the Migros Photo Service (backed by CEWE).
The software is incredible, it will do layouts for you by simply throwing all the pics at it. You only have to do a small control afterwards. The whole automation of it was the big advantage.
Ifolor also does that, not so intuitive as the Migros app but it was also nice. I've used Fujifilm in several occasions and I have to say their stuff looks very outdated compared to Migros and Ifolor.
I used bookfactory last year, and it worked well, and was inexpensive. I used them for cards, though, not printing out an entire album. Only problem with bookfactory is spam you get afterwards.
I have used Apple in the past for a lot of printing. It is certainly the easiest, and also the MOST EXPENSIVE.
